Anyone agree that today's motorsport lacks the variation that was prevalent back in the 80's and 90's ? Take BTCC, rallying and Formula 1 for example, there are now only a handful of manufactures in each. The governing bodies and the powers that be need to entice the big manufactures back to these sports.

I have to agree.

The BTCC was much better back in the day when the cars on track really did mirror those that you could go out and purchase.

Please bring back homologation so that the manufacturers have to build cars and sell to the public that are similar to those on the track!

I cant really comment on what BTCC, rallying and Formula 1 used to be like as i didnt really follow it back then.

But i dont think it matters much now that the BTCC has no manufacturers at all. Its all privateer teams now which should make it an even playing field really. I still enjoy watching the BTCC as the racing is so unique.

Formula 1 has become stale though in my opinion. There's very little overtaking in F1 these days and now some Einstein has decided to remove fuel stops as well. The only thing that will entice me to watch the first few F1 races is the return of the great michael schumacher.
