Renault 19 16v Phase 1 Fuel Pump Wine

Looking for some advice...

I can hear my fuel pump wining even when the tank is full. It has made the noise since i purchased the car around 9 month ago. I have used it daily without any engine trouble (except when water got into the spark plug wells but that's another story).

Just wondering if anyone else has this issue and did the fuel pump eventually break.

It's my first 19 16v so perhaps the fuel pumps are louder on these models. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

From experience, if the whine is intrusive into the passenger cabin then the pump is on it's way out.

It could last weeks, it could last months or even a year.... Just keep using it until the inevitable.
