Brief Description
1972 upgrade version of this short-lived front wheel drive classic from Triumph, the precurser to the famous Dolomite. This is a Sapphire Blue version with a Shadow Blue interior.
Reliability
The car had done very limited mileage prior to my ownership so has needed some "TLC" to bring it up to the standard needed for comfortable daily driving but nothing major. |

Performance
Built for comfort rather than speed, and offering up only 65bhp when new, performance will never be exciting on an original engine. But it is solid, and will keep up with traffic on the motorway (albeit avoiding lane 3). |

Practicality
As well as having a reasonable sized boot, it will seat 4-5 including the driver. A versatile saloon, it will never be as practical as a modern 5 door hatchback, but for what it is it remains very flexible and roomy. |

Comfort
Comfy seats and good carpets were always a feature of Triumph's saloon cars. Engine noise at higher speeds can intrude but on the A roads it remains a comfortable and pleasant runner. |

Cost
No road tax, classic car insurance, and low maintenance costs more than offset the slightly higher fuel costs of an older engine. |

Dealer Service
There are no dealers any more - Triumph ceased production in 1984. The marque is now owned by BMW. |

Overall Rating
A practical and friendly classic car for the daily driver. |
